Former West Coast defender Will Schofield has questioned the consequence of the shortened pre-season after Brisbane’s Cam Rayner became the latest injury victim.

The 2017 number one draft pick was assisted from the field in tears with a suspected ACL injury to his right knee before half time in the pre-season Q-clash.

Aaron Naughton was taken to hospital earlier today for X-rays on his right forearm, while yesterday’s pre-season derby carnage saw Rory Lobb, Zac Langdon, Michael Walters, Brad Sheppard, Bailey Banfield, Mitch Crowden and Luke Shuey all sustain injuries.

Every AFL club played just one official pre-season clash, as well as one warm-up match.
